Friday, March 31


Day 9

Our morning began with mathematics where the students solved subtraction problems using a strategies of their choice.

We then had gym, followed by our spelling test and agendas.

After this we had first recess and lunch, followed by UOI and music with Mr. Oliver. In UOI we categorized transportation into air, land and water. The students chose a mode of transport to add to our poster.




We also went to watch a Personal Project Presentation hosted by one of our MYP students.




We then had second lunch and recess, followed by French and circle time. In circle time the students exchanged their caring hearts with one another.






Important Information:
-          Report Cards sent home. Please complete final page and return.
-          Trip letter due next week.
-          Continue collecting recycleables.

Day 7

Our morning began in mathematics where the students were required to identify subtraction sentences that required trading. They were encouraged to use the Base 10 and place value mat equipment to find the answer. For the remaining subtraction sentences, children found the answers using any given method.






After mathematics the students had P.E., followed by literacy. In literacy the students presented their book reports.











We then had first lunch and recess followed by music with Mr. Oliver.
After music we discussed our March Break work and we discussed our reading comprehension homework.

We then had second lunch and recess, followed by French, agendas and story.

Important Information:
- Parent Conference Letters sent home, please return ASAP.
- ‘Wear blue for two’. Please wear blue on Friday and bring a $2 donation for Autism Awareness.
- Trip Letter to be returned
- Continue collecting recyclable items

Day 6

Our morning began in mathematics where the students used base ten materials and concepts to solve a subtraction problem.








The students then went to P.E. After that they had literacy where the students began presenting their book reports. We will be using our book reports to create a recommendation folder in the classroom for students to use as a resource.









We then had first lunch and recess, followed by UOI. In UOI the students were joined by Grade 2 OJ. As a year group we discussed transportation from the past and present. Students were placed in a group and had to sort images according to ‘Then’ and ‘Now’; they then had to identify a cause for the changes.


















We also watched a ‘Past to present transportation’ video clip and discussed as a year group.



We then had second lunch an recces, followed by French with Mlls. Jessica, agendas and story.
