April 30



It has been a marvelous Monday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and sharing our weekend news with Penguin.   

        

We then had recess followed by phonics and P.E with Miss. Cranfield. In phonics we discussed the phoneme ‘UEue’ (U-QUEUE) and practiced the letter formations.

After that we had lunch and recess.  Then, the students wrote an entry into their journals about their weekend.



We then had afternoon recess followed by scratch art.

-          Summer Camp and re-registration due to Lynne Burke as soon as possible.
-          Please send your child to school with outdoor running shoes for gym.
-          Spelling List 5, dictation on Friday.

A fantastic Friday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had mathematics where the students completed activities on our measure unit.

After that we had recess followed by Spelling Dictation and Show and Tell. In Show and Tell the students brought in items to share relating to our phonemes of the week.







After that we had lunch and recess.

Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Birthday Circle.



We then had afternoon recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.

Key information:
-          Spelling List 5 sent home, dictation on Friday.
-          $3 donation for UOI Is it Alive? due on Wednesday. Thank you to those who have already donated!

A tremendous Thursday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by the calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we mathematics where the students reviewed their knowledge and understanding of time and measure.  





We then had recess followed by phonics where the students continued to explore the phoneme ‘UEue’.






Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by dance.

We then had afternoon recess followed by music with Ms. Bhogal.

A terrific Tuesday!

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’Canada. Then we had register followed by the calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.

Next we had mathematics where the students continued exploring our unit on measure. As a class the students estimated and used cubes to weigh objects in the classroom.





After that we had recess followed by phonics and UOI. In phonics the students continued to explore the phoneme ‘IRir’.





In UOI the students explored the features of land, water and air vehicles.





Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by Daily 5.

Our afternoon ended with recess followed by French with Art where the students began to design their transportation vehicle.

-          Casual Day tomorrow.
-          Birthday Circle on Friday.
-          Spelling List 4 sent home, dictation on Friday.
-          Please send your child to school with rain boots. As the snow is melting, the grass is becoming very wet and muddy.
-          UOI design begins this week; students will work on this in school.
-          UOI materials collection – thank you so much for all of the contributions, we have an abundance of supplies, THANK YOU!

Next we had mathematics where the students discussed the terms ‘empty, nearly empty, half full, nearly full and full’. The students then identified containers that would hold the most and the least.

After that we had Spelling Dictation.

Then we had recess followed by P.E. with Ms. Cranfield and and Show and Tell. In Show and Tell the students brought in items to share relating to our phonemes of the week.






After that we had lunch and recess.

Our afternoon was spent completing Earth Day related activities.

Our morning began with assembly where we sang O’ Canada. Then we had register followed by calendar, the weather and 100 days of school.



Next we were lucky to have reading buddies with the Grade 7 and 8s.











We then had recess followed by phonics and UOI. In phonics they students continued to explore the phoneme ‘OYoy’. In UOI the students recapped how to cross a road safely and discussed the importance of staying safe near the road.  

We then had lunch and recess.
 Our afternoon began with P.E with Miss. Cranfield followed by dance.
 We then had afternoon recess followed by French with Mme. Viellenueve.
